Amy Childs
Today is a really surreal day for me even though I launched ODP a year and 14 months ago today is the start of something new, fresh and CONTAGIOUS! I truly pinch myself that I have been blessed with this vision, dream and passion in order to partner with my clients to create lasting special moments of celebration! I love a celebration so in order to show my gratitude for the so many that have believed in what I create, stand for and dream of I had to do an extreme giveaway (everyday this week thru Saturday!)! In addition to fabulous free stuff, I also wanted to go deeper and each day would have a focus in part of this new website, branding and further expansion of ODP! With expansion I am finally sharing our sister company The Pretty Prop Shop and more will be shared with time! So with that being said today is all about beauty. Not just beauty on the outside, but what is beauty and joy look like in your life...what makes you tick?
HOW TO ENTER: So take a quick second and please "like" our pages (One Divine Party, Citizens of Beauty and Ink and Mouse) on facebook and if you want 2 chances share this url page on your facebook or twitter! Then after you have done that just leave a comment on this post that you did (post sepearately if you shared it!)
JUST FOR FUN: Answer this question when you comment "what is one expression of beauty in your life" it could be funny, sweet, sentimental...there is no right or wrong answer. I cannot WAIT to read the responses! Winner will be randomly selected at 10pm.
THE PRIZE:
A High Definition MAKE-UP BRUSH SET....I want this so bad, seriously Kendra picked this as one of her favorite moderately priced sets and it is amazing! Also Kendra always add a mystery gift in with her giveaways and I love those little surprises.
One of the biggest blessings that is so unique with owning my business is all the amazing people that I get to meet and the opportunity to share with you amazing businesses, people and charities!!!! So that's what I'm doing for this giveaway!!!!!
Let me first introduce the amazingly talented, kind-hearted, infectious, joyful web designer and so much more Extroadinare......Carrie Postma with Ink and Mouse. Carrie has taken my vision, my dream and hopes for my business and communicated it through my new logo's and website. I may sound dramatic, but if you own a business you know the value in your heart and the time you put into your business so I am forever blessed and grateful for the work, talents and dedication to giving me what I hoped for and more! The services she provides are priceless she listened and created something that reflected me and thought of things I didn't and did all the changes with a smile. I asked Carrie to share the non-typical bio, something fun, sharing really who she is and her passion and of course about BEAUTY!

Carrie Postma, Founder of ink & mouseI am Carrie, a graphic designer and owner of ink & mouse (www.inkandmouse.com) I have been learning graphic design for over 10 years and dabbling in the creative since I was a little girl. I was made to create. I launched ink & mouse at the beginning of this year and had no idea that God would be blessing me with the most amazing clients (like the fabulous Amy Childs). I am beyond giddy when I think about what God is doing in my life and how He loves me.
I am completely passionate about finding the beauty in everything. I can not look around me without seeing God’s creativity dripping from nature, people, and all creatures big and small. I find inspiration everywhere like a passionate song, a person’s story, even, a takeout bag (you can ask me the story behind that at coffee sometime). This is my motivation behind every project that comes my way. Exploring and revealing the individuality of my clients and their projects is pure joy.
My daily favorites are laughing, drinking tea, big hugs, and music that moves my soul. I like to think I’m perfectly sane but, my children prove me wrong everyday. My husband and I made three adorable, enthusiastic, compassionate kids and they make each day an adventure. I live in a land of crazy but, as Drew Barrymore once said, “To be really great and interesting, you have to be a little crazy. I just don't think one comes without the other.”
I want to wish Amy every blessing and happiness with One Divine Party and I could not be more grateful that you trusted me with your branding and website. It has been my complete honor to work with you and look forward to doing more delicious things together in the future! If you would like help with a project, you can find me over at www.inkandmouse.com or on facebook www.facebook.com/inkandmouse.com

Secondly one of my dearest friends and the most talented make-up artist I know! Seriously she has taught me so many tips and tricks she's a fountain of knowledge, science, humor, love, wit and has the most peaceful demeanor you'll meet (brides she is so calming she always relaxes me on my More Good Day segments...such a gift she has in addition to her rad artist talents). She is a beauty blogger and the cool thing is you can get all the same free tips and advice right on her blog http://citizensofbeauty.com/. I can't even do her justice on her background so please take a second to read up on this girl....ahhhmazing (http://kendrastanton.com/about). So I asked Kendra the same thing, I said okay I know you are phenomenal at what you do but tell me something about love or beauty that others haven't heard...and waalaa enjoy the read below. Her family is so dear to me and I am blessed to call them friends!

Kendra Stanton & her husband EzraI met my husband in a less than ideal way, completely random, completely not planned, completely and entirely us. For starters, it was a blind date set up through a best friend, which can either be really good, or a little sketch. But he had a unique and intriguing name that made me need to meet him. So we set something up and when I got a text message from him to check my email to see what he looked like 3 hours before we met…I pretty much had a panic attack. I opened my email, and there before me was a flaming red headed MULLET man with skin whiter than Edward’s on Twilights with a gigantic zit gracing the tip of his rather prominent nose. To top off the whole situation, he was rocking a long black trench coat that made him look like some weird version of Count Dracula.
Nonetheless, I was too much of a wimp to call it off and waited patiently on my couch for him to pick me up. I give myself major props for this by the way. So, when I saw this car pull up to my house, I immediately went outside to greet the flaming vamp man and get the night going and hopefully ending even quicker. But when he stepped out of the car and I saw that he clearly lied to me, I said a quick, “thank you” prayer and immediately called him a punk. And that my friends is how our love story started.

Ok I know this blog post is really long, feel free to grab a snack, coffee or iced tea you don't want to miss this I'm tellin ya.......
So if you have read my pay it forward section you know that a portion of the revenue for the events goes to charity. So I'm taking this opportunity to highlight our core charities that we give to...how fun is that!!!! I chose to share the one's today that go with beauty and since its my business I get to make the rules and break them so I'm sharing two charities. Read up on them, they are truly amazing and so near and dear to my hear. Thank you to Michelle and Sharla for following your calling and making an impact ONE person at a time, you inspire me so thank you for that!
1st charity: Empowering Grace, founder Sharla Vallek http://www.empoweringgrace.com/
She creates blissful escapes for moms whose children have been touched by Cancer...need I say more!
2nd charity: The Abba Project, founder Michelle Watson http://www.theabbaproject.com/
I had the amazing gift of creatively designing a middle school girls Purity night this past Friday and it was the most impactful work event I have had the joy in sharing in....forever imprinted on my heart! Everyone who pulled together for the one single purpose...there just aren't words to explain!
My biggest fear deciding on whether or not that I share that I give to charities is that people would think I was trying to draw attention to my deeds in doing it which almost made me not, but then I decided I want to create a movement and have my brides, corporations that work with me get to join in on the fun of giving even if they are planning a fun party....so I got over it. People who know me know my heart ;)
Thanks so much for getting through today's extremely long blogpost tomorrow will be shorter I promise!
xx

Hi Amy!
I love all your designs! Almost too good to eat...almost. :)
Hmm, good question! I think an expression of beauty is when I see people do something nice for someone else, just because. When nothing has to be gained or earned from the deed, someone just does it from the kindness of their heart.
Hope you are having a good day!
Also, we should get together sometime so I can hear more about what you have planned for your fabulous designs this summer!
Woohoo likey likey!
I would have to say that for me... It is a smile. It's beautiful and also empowering because it gives you courage to open up and start a conversation or just wish someone a great day!
Love this new website!!! I tweeted twice - just because you are fabulous and because I CAN!!!! Beauty? I do say it is evident in our countanence, our sparkly light that exudes from our inner most being. The way in which we remain humble and helpful to those all around us irregardless of our human tendancies. We simply GLOW!!!!
So am I to post again? LOL I am so not technical!!! So yes, yes, and yes, I shared on FB and then some!!! Beauty is also -our outer appearance. It is loving you for your uniquely beautiful self. Tweak those brows, paint those toes, get your hair trimmed, add some sparkle, stand tall and walk around with a big smile on your face! xoxoxo girls!
I liked you all! Would love to win :)
Wow....I knew I would be inspired and giddy about these comments, but I am even more so! Thank you for brightening my day by visiting my sight and sharing what beauty is to you! Allison it was so great to see you Sunday night and YES we must definitely talk about the upcoming wedding season...YEAH I am so excited about what's in the works it truly tickles me. Ariel- YES isn't a smile such a simple yet powerful tool, love how you explained it. Sharla- you exude beauty from inside and outside, thank you for sharing so eliquently! Amy- thanks so much and so happy to have you following us now!!!
I love all three pages. Congrats and looking forward to reading the blog! :)
Shared on Facebook!
Oops...I can't edit my original post....one expression of beauty is helping people as much as I can, not because I have much but because I have been in need and have seen generosity by some angels on Earth! I try to be positive in everything and also really try to be the encourager in all situations!
Really looking forward to this blog, I'm a friend of Kendra's.
Beauty to me is my baby boys silly smile that is just a small clue into the hugeness of his personality and all I imagine he will be like!
